March/April 2011 Music Update

Hey Everybody,
It's great to finally be able to sit down and update you on what's happening here, there and wherever.  Things are hoppin' here and I'm getting more excited by the day.  Opportunity just keeps knockin' and I'm so happy and even more THANKFUL for all the support.

March was crazy with everyone focused on preparing for the Las Vegas trip.  What a great opportunity to open for Charlie Daniels - all I can say is that I have a lot of people that I am so thankful for - thanks so much for all your help and support.  Press release is posted
here.

I was recovering from the Vegas trip when we received a phone call about doing the pre-concert party for the Zac Brown Band concert in Winston-Salem, NC.  What an exciting evening.  The party, which was held at the coliseum's Windsor Club, sold out and we had a great time entertaining the crowd getting them pumped up for the concert.

Just recently, we announced the Rapids Jam performance spots.  Press release is posted
here.  Rapids Jam is a three day music festival being held in Ronoake Rapids, NC this June.  You can see the entire line-up of aritsts that will be performing by going to the Rapids Jam website at www.rapidsjam.com.  You are going to flip when you see the line-up of great artists they have lined up for you.  I am honored to have been chosen and excited about the performance.  Don't forget to sign up for their updates.  Tickets are available via the website.

I'm so glad the warm weather had shown up.  It's going to be a great spring/summer.  You can always check my schedule on the home page of the website.  We are constantly updating so please visit as often as you can to stay updated.  Go to

All-Star Performers For Leadership Music Gala

Martina McBride, Ronnie Milsap, and Little Big Town will perform at the Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award gala dinner honoring the Country Music Association. McBride will also host the Tuesday, May 17 event at the Renaissance Hotel downtown, and noted Nashville musician Steve Gibson will lead the house band.

The CMA will be recognized that night for exemplary leadership in country music. The organization promotes the genre through the annual CMA Awards, CMA Music Festival, and CMA Songwriter Series across the country. It focuses on the community by funding music in public schools, and last year gave a substantial donation to flood relief efforts. The CMA also encourages continuing education in the music industry through its online educational series and championing of Leadership Music.

In coming weeks more performers will be added to the gala’s musical salute being produced by Robert Deaton. Honorary Chairs for the 2011 event are Phran and Joe Galante, and June and Bill Denny.

Individual patron tickets start at $200 each for LM alumni. Tables of 10 are also available. Proceeds from the evening benefit Leadership Music, an educational 501(c)(3) organization.

Reservations to attend the invitation-only fundraiser must be made by May 1. For more information, contact the Leadership Music office at LM@leadershipmusic.org or (615) 770-7090.

The Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award, named for the first executive director of Leadership Music, was created in 2004 “to recognize music industry leaders who exemplify the highest quality of leadership and leading by example.” The CMA joins previous honorees Tony Brown (2004), Gerry House (2005), Emmylou Harris (2006), Frances W. Preston (2007), The Bradley Family: Owen, Harold, Jerry, Connie and Patsy (2008), Jim Foglesong, Allen Reynolds and Garth Brooks (2009), and Fred Foster, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson (2010).  via

 Make A Wish Come True
February 2011

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.  I have the pleasure of working with Make-A-Wish locally here in the Triad area of North Carolina.  I encourage you to work with your local Make-A-Wish chapter in sponsoring events, volenteering your time and/or donating money to help wishes in your area.

March 8, 2011, me and Stealin' Time will perform at Classic's Sports Grille in Advance, NC from 8pm-11pm to help support 35 new wishes in the Triad area of North Carolina.  Please join me in helping by dining at Classic's between 11am and 11pm on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 for a Make-A-Wish Celebrity Serve.

It's been a great month getting ready for 2011 plans.  I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day with your sweetheart and if you don't have one, may love your way very soon.

Naomi & Wynonna Judd

Naomi and Wynonna Judd will star in their very own real life series on the Oprah Winfrey Network starting in April. The six-episode series titled The Judds will follow mother and daughter as they hit the road for their first concert tour in a decade. Cameras will follow the duo onstage and off, offering a rare glimpse into the private struggles and triumphs of one of country music’s most celebrated pairings.

The first episode airs April 10, 8 pm CT on OWN. Viewers will be immersed in the world of the The Judds, from traveling city to city for concert performances to returning home to their farm in Tennessee to emotional closed doors sessions with their life coach. The Judds is produced for OWN by Gay Rosenthal Productions, Inc. The executive producers are Gay Rosenthal, Bruce Toms, Kerry Hansen, Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd. via: musicrow.com

News Books coming on Shania Twain, Johnny Cash
& Tammy Wynette

Ready to start that beach-reading list? Well, there are several country music-related books in the publishing chute for you to consider. As always, biographies and autobiographies are in plentiful supply. Topping the spring list is Shania Twain's memoir, From This Moment On, which arrives in May. Author Susan Masino's Family Tradition -- Three Generations of Hank Williams is set for May release, and The Three of Us: Growing Up With Tammy and George, written by daughter Georgette Jones and Nashville author Patsi Bale Cox, is out in July.

On Tuesday (Feb. 22), the paperback edition of Jimmy McDonough's Tammy Wynette: Tragic Country Queen becomes available. Here are some other titles that are on the horizon: Bean Blossom: The Brown County Jamboree and Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Festivals, Thomas Adler (May); A Heartbeat and a Guitar: Johnny Cash and the Making of Bitter Tears, Antonino D'Ambrosio (May) and Right by Her Roots: Americana Women and Their Songs, Jewly Hight (March). Also, Rockabilly: The Twang Heard 'Round the World: The Illustrated History, Michael Dregni, Greil Marcus, Peter Guralnick, Luc Sante, Sonny Burgess, Robert Gordon (May); Woody Guthrie: American Radical, Will Kaufman (March) and 33 Revolutions per Minute: A History of Protest Songs, From Billie Holiday to Green Day, Dorian Lynskey (April). All That Is Bitter and Sweet, by Ashley Judd (the actress-activist member of the Judds clan) and Maryanne Vollers, will be published in April. The most intriguing title, though, arrives in May. If Liam Sullivan's Making the Scene -- Nashville: How to Live, Network and Succeed in Music City fulfills the promise of its title, it could become a replacement for the Gideon Bible at local hotels and motels. via: CMT News

2011 Is Here - Let's Get Excited - January 2011

A few short years ago if someone would have told me that I would be on the road to my dream I would have told them that they had lost their mind.  I certainly would not have believed them.

In 2010, so many things happened that were always thought to be impossible, not just by me but folks I ran into when I first started persuring singing as a career.  As I think back, I realize that everything that has happened to me, and believe me I could write a book, happened to give me the tools and experience I needed to face the challanges that I've faced so far.  I know that the toughest fights are ahead and I thank God everyday that he has put people beside me and in my boat that guide and direct me as well as keep me grounded every single day.

With that said, here are a few of the things I have to be thankful for from 2010.

2010 Celebrations

"It's A Beautiful Life" was completed in January 2010

"Tall Dark and Lonesome" was released to National Radio in May 2010 and hit radio stations all over the U.S. and Europe.

"It's A Beautiful Life" was released in July 2010 and became available on CD Baby, Amazon.com and iTunes.

"Tall Dark and Lonesome" received heavy airplay on Radio Stations across the U.S. causing the single to Chart on Music Row for thirteen weeks.

"Tall Dark and Lonesome" received heavy airplay on WKML 95.7FM (A Billboard/Media Charting Station in Fayetteville, NC) during the summer of 2010 and is still being played on medium rotation today.

"It's A Beautiful Life" was accepted by Pandora.com in December 2010.  You can now create a Tammie Davis Channel on Pandora.  (We were told that the CD had a 1% chance of being accepted because Tammie is not signed by a major label.)

So as you can see, there's a lot to be thankful for and believe me, I'm so grateful to especially 'you' the fans and friends that I have made along the way so far.

I would like to thank my 2010 band members, Phil Martin, John Nickels, Tim Sidden, Corky McClellan, Jimmy Church, Adam Barber, Shannon Slaughter and folks like Benny Lester, Rocky Orell, Jeff Cranfill, Ben Harris, Bruce Watkins, Greg Perkins, and the list goes on and on and on - I tried to list everyone the other night but I had about a hundrend names and was so scared I would leave someone out that I'm just going to say "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart to EVERYBODY ! Thank you so much for your help and support during 2010.  I'm looking forward to a great year ahead.

There's a lot more work to do in 2011 and beyond.  The funny thing is that the work never ends - even when you, as many refer to, "make it".  The work never ends but the most important thing is the music.  I love music and I love giving my heart to you in every single song I sing.

Lots of Love, Tammie

Happy Thanksgiving To You and Yours

I have so much to be thankful for this season.  I'm so blessed to have the people surrounding me that support me and my music.  It's my life dream to sing, write and help produce my own music. When it touches you inside that what means the most to me. I love it when my music speaks to folks.  One of the best compliments from friends and fans that I receive is "That song gave me goose bumps" or that a song really spoke to them in a special way.  That's what it's all about for me.

Thank you so much for being a member of my website and all your support.  Without you, I can't get the word out about my music.

The year is coming to a close and we've accomplished a lot this year but a lot is still left on the table.  Please keep thinking positive thoughts for me as I continue on my journey of getting my music out to everyone.  2011 is going to be a good one, I can feel it.

Wishing you a Blessed Thanksgiving,
Tammie

What's in the New?
August 2010

Tammie's Notes
I hope everyone has had a great summer. It's almost fall and that's my favorite time of year. It's been a pretty wonderful summer for me...a lot has happened. The radio tour was so exciting, I met so many wonderful radio personalities all across the U.S. I wasn't able to tour as many of the stations as I had hoped but I'll make sure those are on my list when I start the tour back up. All total we made around thirty stops. As many of you know, my lead guitar player went with me during the tour and I just want to say thank you to him. I can't say enough good things about him. If you don't know John Nickels, you must meet him. He is one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet and a dynamite of a guitar player. "Thanks John!".

I've had somewhat of a break from doing shows but we're crankin' it back up. I hope to see you at a show soon.

Lots of Love, Tammie

Tall Dark and Lonesome Radio Tour & More

Hey Everybody,

It's been a while since I've had time to sit down and write to send you updates. The last four weeks have been a whirlwind - but busy is always good in this business. Hope you are having a great spring and things are going well for you and your family.

This past week, I just kicked off the "Tall Dark and Lonesome" Radio tour down in the great state of Georgia. I was privileged to meet and interview with three awesome radio stations. Here's the information for those stations. If you live in these areas, you can call and request my new single "Tall Dark and Lonesome". These guys were great and the Georgia hospitality was awesome.

This coming week, I'm visiting the North Carolina country stations.

Thanks so much for calling and requesting my song at your local country radio stations. Tall Dark and Lonesome is being promoted nation wide. Your calls will help me get my song on the radio station's play lists. Your support is greatly appreciated.

If you want an autographed-numbered copy of the CD, you must get one of the first 100 CDs sold. Lot's of folks are pre-ordering at the shows & events and online and I am so grateful to all of you for your support, there are not enough words to describe my gratitude.

Pre-order your copy at www.TammieDavisMusic.com
